OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE ITER ASSEMBLY PHASE

The official launch of the assembly phase of the ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) project took place on Tuesday 28th of July 2020. The event brought together project staff and journalists in person on site, and was attended remotely by political leaders from the various countries involved in ITER (European Union, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Russia and the United States), including President Emmanuel Macron.

The event was made up of three main parts:

  • A tour of the ITER site and its key components

  • A ceremony with statements from political leaders from around the world

  • A press conference

CUSTOMER NEEDS

  1. To broadcast the entire event live on social media to make it accessible to the largest number of people possible

  2. To simultaneously broadcast speeches by several political leaders

  3. To answer questions from journalists remotely

OUR AUDIOVISUAL SOLUTIONS

1. Using our digital audiovisual solutions to stream the event live

Our teams combined their creative, technical and logistical expertise to produce a hybrid event (in-person and remote participation) that was streamed live on the ITER YouTube channel for more than three hours.

2. Webcasting speakers from around the world during the event

As a webcasting service provider, GL events deployed technical solutions to simultaneously broadcast the speeches of several political leaders remotely via a secure collaborative platform in line with the schedule.

3. Creation of a private web platform for written questions from journalists

For the press conference, GL events, a specialist in audiovisual equipment rental, set up a private platform via which journalists could quickly and securely send in their written questions.

Equipping the event space with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment

Our teams provided the customer with an event space that was operational from the word "go", with lighting, a sound recording and video recording system as well as a stage setting and décor in line with the customer's expectations.
